I know it’s tough, but try to wrap your mind around it

This is a message to President Bush and other Republicans:
Guys, it’s “Democratic Party” and the individual members are called “Democrats.”
I have been listening to more political talk than usual lately, leading up to the midterm elections. And if I had a nickel for every time a Republican referred to a group of people as “the Democratics” and the party as “the Democrat Party,” well, maybe I wouldn’t be so annoyed, because I would have so many damn nickels. (The Prez is especially fond of this word flip-flop and he gets away with it because apparently nobody expects his mastery of grammar to exceed that of a 2nd grader.)
Guys, I know that on the Republican side the word is the same for both: you are a Republican, you belong to the Republican Party. I do not call you Republicannons or call your group the Republic Party. So just slow down, think it over for two seconds, and try to get your “Democrat” untangled from your “Democratic.” And if you still can’t figure it out, just send me a nickel.
