Adorable and Grammatically Incorrect Kitties Hit the Big Time

May 22, 2007

In case you are not already addicted to I Can Has Cheezburger, stop reading my stupid blog and go look at it right now. It is full of pictures of kittens that have funny (sort of) tags on them. The first time I looked at Cheezburger I was annoyed that the kittens had such stupid captions on them, but after about 30 seconds of looking at this little guy:

and these ones:

I was hooked. When I am at my office and physically unable to talk to my cat in a baby voice, the next best thing is to look at these pictures and read the silly captions. Luckily I share my tiny windowless office with another Cheezburger addict, and frequently throughout the day there are outbursts of kitty-related laughter. Good times. It almost makes up for working at a low-paid job in a windowless office. Almost.

But it’s not just me and my officemate who love the Cheez. A few days ago, another one of my favorite websites, XKC, offered this cartoon, about the Cheezburger phenomenon:

And now, holy moly, the Cheezkittens have seriously made it big, and are featured in this lovely photo essay on Slate, where the author even made his very own LOL CAT. In other words, OMG.
